How We Work: Designing and delivering solutions for people and nature.
In this series, we take a closer look at how AB Entheos’ work comes to life in practice, beyond the concepts and into the realities on the ground.

Morris Munene
Assistant Manager, Nature Claims
Morris works within AB Entheos’ Nature Claims team, supporting the systems and processes that help ensure communities affected by nature-related risks are fairly and effectively supported.
His role spans the recruitment and management of data collection officers, monitoring field activities, analysing claims data, and contributing to compensation decision-making processes.
At the center of his work is ensuring that claims systems remain credible, responsive, and grounded in real community realities.
Strengthening Systems on the Ground
Morris is working on strengthening systems designed to improve fraud detection and support more effective resource allocation within claims processes. The goal is to ensure that support reaches genuine incidents and communities while maintaining accountability and trust within the system.
This work sits at the intersection of operational coordination, data analysis, and field implementation, requiring constant adaptation to evolving realities on the ground.

Navigating Governance and Cultural Realities
One of the biggest challenges Morris continues to navigate is working across different governance structures and cultural contexts within communities.
Implementation does not happen in a vacuum. Local dynamics, community relationships, and perceptions all shape how systems are understood and how solutions are received.
Understanding these realities, he explains, is just as important as the technical systems themselves.
“People value what they own not only materially, but also emotionally and culturally.”
What the Work Teaches

One lesson that continues to stand out in Morris’ work is that the losses communities experience often carry emotional and cultural significance beyond financial value alone.
Whether it’s livestock, crops, or livelihood, these losses are deeply connected to identity, survival, and daily life.
Understanding these human dimensions remains essential when designing systems linked to resilience, coexistence, and recovery.
Insurance for Nature as a Source of Hope
For Morris, Insurance for Nature represents more than financial protection mechanisms. It creates pathways for support and resilience for communities living alongside nature-related risks, many of whom have historically had limited access to protection systems. By helping communities recover from losses, these approaches can strengthen coexistence while supporting livelihoods.
What People Don’t Always See

Behind the scenes, building these systems requires significant coordination, time, and resources.
From field verification processes and operational management to data review and continuous system improvements, much of the work happens quietly in the background before solutions are visible externally.
The process of designing workable systems often involves continuous learning, adaptation, and long-term engagement.
Looking Ahead

What excites Morris most is the growing opportunity for AB Entheos to continue exploring the intersection between nature, resilience, and risk.
He sees the organisation as contributing to pioneering solutions for complex and often overlooked risks, while continuing to push boundaries within the Insurance for Nature space.
As the work continues to evolve, so does the opportunity to better understand the relationship between people, risk, and nature.
And for Morris, one word captures the journey best:
Ingenious
